Road Closure along Church Road, Evington cancelled twice – update

This website reported that planned work along Church Road was cancelled both on 18th and 21st August 2025.  Local groups had been proactive in explaining the planned diversions through word of mouth and their media groups.  This was work to replace the old gas pipes.  The work was to be done by Cadent.

The Friends of Evington are now informed that Leicester City Council were not satisfied with the standards of work being done and are reviewing the project.

Cllr. Zuffar Haq, councillor for Evington said: “I am monitoring the situation and will give the Friends of Evington/Evington Echo more information as soon as I can.”
