Leicester celebrating 50 years of the Ugandan Asian exodus – Join a Curve Theatre community production

This Summer, to mark 50 years of the Ugandan Asian exodus, we’re celebrating our Ugandan Asian community in Leicester with a special project – and we want you to take part!

Get involved!

Would you like to act on stage, or get involved backstage with Curve’s Community production this Summer?

We’re looking for people of all abilities and from all walks of life to get involved.  

Perform

Can you Act? Sing? Dance? Do you play an instrument or are you a band? We want you!

 

Behind-the-scenes

Join our backstage team and help us create the production with lights, sound and set design. 

Open to anyone aged 16+. 

No experience is necessary!

 

We hope you will join us this summer and take part in this historic event. 

 

Auditions are taking place on: 

Sat April 2nd 2-4pm @ Curve
Sun April 3rd 5-7pm @ The Peepul Centre (with dancer and Curve Resident Creative Kesha Raithatha)
Mon April 4th 6-8pm @ Curve

Rehearsal Dates 

Weekly Saturday rehearsals from 16th May
Intensive weekly rehearsals weeks of 11th and 18th July

Performance Dates

Show opens Friday 29th July and plays until Saturday 6th August 

Don’t worry if you can’t do all of the dates, we will find you a role in which you can participate.

 

Please note, participation is fully voluntary.
