Detective Inspector Simon Pearson from East Leicester CID, said: “We are currently investigating the report of a racially aggravated assault after a fight occurred between a group of teenage boys. It happened in the afternoon of Friday 18 March in Marydene Drive, Evington.
“No-one was seriously injured during the incident.

“A number of boys were arrested in connection with the incident. They have since been released on bail while we carry out further enquiries.

“We are carrying out a full investigation into this incident and are working closely with neighbourhood policing colleagues and our Sikh Police Association, as well as the community and Judgemeadow Community College to provide full support to the victims involved.
“Anyone who has information that can assist with the investigation is asked to call 101, quoting crime number 22*156796.”
