Evington Village Fete and Show 2025
This annual Fete and Show took place on Evington Village Green on Saturday 9th August 2025. The fete was opened by Leicester City’s Lord Mayor, Cllr. Teresa Aldred supported by her monther and ward councillors Zuffar Haq and Deepak Bajaj. Backing for the event was supported by the Community Ward Fund.
The purpose of the day is to:
- foster the community spirit of the village and encourage residents of the area to become active members of the community.
- To educate, encourage and raise the standards in the development of traditional and modern craft skills. The show organisers will seek to reflect the wide range of skills to be found in Evington.
- To promote the cultivation of fruits, flowers and vegetables.

There were indoor stalls in the very large marquee.
The Bouny Castle and children’s games put on by Friends of Evington were available to keep children entertained as well.
At St. Denys Church there were afternoon teas and an Art exhibition. Dave Letts, singer and acoustic guitarist performed classic folk and rock songs from the sixties and seventies.
The Evington Chapel had an exhibition about the History of Evington.
Many local businesses advertised in the fete brochure and provided raffle prizes as well as items for the tombola.
