Tag: WW1 in Evington

In Evington during the hundred anniversary year of the start of WW1,(2014) we have been commemorating WW1 with special events, local research and heritage walks around the village. We received a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund: First World War ‘Then and Now’ to:
1. Disseminate information about WW1 in Evington. (WW1 Special edition, heritage walk booklets, displays, working in schools, website)
2. To work together (Media, Historical research, Events (Peace event and Burying the time capsule event), Visitos (Heritage walk around the village) Gardening, Working with Schools.
3. To restore the War Memorial with community involvement (Consultations, gardening).
