Olympus Health

Olympus Health

Following the closure of the Post Office and pharmacy in December 2024 and following months of speculation the new occupants of the building are now up and running. Olympus Health has now established itself in Evington.

Olympus Health is a private, but ‘NHS-linked’ healthcare clinic serving the Evington-Rowlatts Hill area of Leicester. It is a community-based medical provider offering both NHS-funded services (via GP referral) and private treatments (self-referral, faster access). It already operates from The Willows Medical Centre on Coleman Road, just west of Evington.

They specialise in quick-access procedures and diagnostics, often avoiding long NHS waits for such things as minor surgery (cysts, lipomas, skin tags, etc.), joint injections for pain relief, ultrasound scans (rapid diagnosis), hand surgery (e.g. carpal tunnel), men’s health procedures (e.g. vasectomy) and acupuncture for pain/wellbeing

The model is basically: “specialist treatment in the community, faster than hospital waiting lists.”

It is a Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered provider (regulated healthcare), it works alongside NHS Leicester services, often offers same-week appointments privately, takes GP referral needed for NHS-funded treatment

Essentially Olympus Health Evington is not a GP surgery, but a specialist clinic focused on procedures, diagnostics, and faster treatment access, bridging the gap between GP and hospital care.
