Nordic Walking with Ministry Of Nordic Walks Community Group

Ministry of Nordic Walks Community Group recently celebrated six years of Nordic walking in and around Evington. In that time, they have successfully taught over 500 people to use the specially designed Nordic poles to benefit posture, balance, stamina, speed and keep fit whilst walking as well as bring so many people together all over Leicestershire who have become firm friends.
The social element of Nordic walking is a large reason why so many people find this type of activity really enjoyable as well as being so beneficial to both their physical and mental health as many members will tell you.
The group have many different Nordic poles for people to borrow for those wishing to try this popular exercise so all you need is a pair of comfortable walking shoes (even a pair of trainers will do) if you want to book onto one of their free taster sessions this spring.
During April, the community group will be focusing on providing more instruction and sessions for carers as part of Carers Active April to encourage those with caring responsibilities to take time out for themselves and become more physically active in the community. Group exercise has been shown to be an excellent way to combat the stresses and sometimes loneliness carers can feel in their everyday lives.
For more information on Nordic walking, how to book onto a taster session or the Carers Active campaign they will be running please contact them at ministryofnordicwalks@gmail.com
