New Booking System for Downing Drive Surgery. Evington, Leicester LE5 6LP
From Wednesday 1st October 2025, Downing Drive surgery will have a new booking system for all patient GP appointment requests.
Instead of calling at 8.00am to book, patients will complete a medical triage form. From this form the doctor can decide what your next steps are. (So you can be seen in the right place by the right professional at the right time).
For urgent help, call 999.
For urgent health concerns call 111.
The triage form should not be used for life threatening emergencies.
NHS England requires all GP practices to offer online consultation methods between 8.00am and 6.30pm.
The following is listed as advantages for this new triage system:
- Avoids the 8.00am scramble’ to book an appointment
- Avoids the unfairness for patients who couldn’t book at 8.00am
- Allows easier access to healthcare professionals (finding the right clinician at the right time)
The triage form will be available for medical queries from 7.00am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday and 24/7 for administrative queries, e.g requests for prescriptions, sick notes, test results and other non-medical questions.
All forms submitted will be reviewed by a GP and actioned within 48 hours, Monday – Friday.
Downing Drive surgery have their own website. All patients in this country can also use the NHS app and can then submit a non urgent administrative request.
