Evington Road Area Residents Parking Scheme
Cllrs. Mohammed, Surti and Sood joined Leicester City Council in 2023 and have been working had on developing plans to alleviate the complex problems along the lines of “the greatest good for the greatest number”.
This has involved much consultation with residents, stakeholders and council departments about Evington Road and the surrounding residential area.
The first and second phases, which have now been concluded, looked at implementing a residents’ parking scheme.
Residents in the Evington Road scheme area have now been informed that the scheme will be introduced, and the final stage of the residents’ parking scheme will now involve signing, issuing, permits, marking parking bays, loading bays and other road markings.
Councillors confirmed that once the work is complete, the council will be considering further measures to improve traffic flow through Evington Road.
It is expected that Evington Road will be closed over two or three consecutive weekends, depending on the weather, from 25th to 26th October. 1st and 2nd November and 8th to 9th November 2025.
Comprehensive traffic management plans and communication plans are being developed to maintain the impact of the works.
