Armchair Fan – Leicester City Football Club
I think Jordan James, Aaron Ramsey (until he was injured), and Abdul Fatawu have all been real pluses for Leicester so far this season.
Fatawu would put a good chance over when I backed him to score against Hull. They were a mile better than Swansea, then went and slipped up at Hull, followed by a crime of a draw with “high-flying” Middlesbrough.
Stephy Mavididi missed from three yards against Blackburn, and Patson Daka missed another chance. I couldn’t help but notice a Leicester defender’s blond locks blowing in the wind as he was outpaced to the by-line by the Blackburn player.
Then came a peach of a cross from Abdul Fatawu, and Jordan James grabbed the winner with a header against Norwich.
HELLS-BELLIS!
Poor marking gave Harwood-Bellis a free header as City went down 0–3 to Southampton. A second-half hot pie was the highlight—or was it the Depeche Mode track they played at the end of the match?
Daka finally got off the mark with a winner against Stoke. Then came poor game management and another reverse, this time 2–3 against Sheffield United. If there were any positives to take from it, at least they found the net twice, with Mavididi and James getting the goals—their second and fourth of the season, respectively.
A nice James assist and De Cordova-Reid buried it to give Leicester the lead against Derby County. Skipp made it two after a quarter of an hour, volleying in with his left peg.
Jordan James volleyed a third—his fifth of the season—from a Luke Thomas cross. Jordan Ayew had already had a good goal disallowed for offside. Derby’s Ward took a corner from outside the area, completely unmarked. Leicester ran out 3–1 winners, and another plus was Luke Thomas putting several good crosses in.
Leicester could only draw 2–2 after being 2–0 up at half-time against Bristol City. For some reason, Jordan James was substituted, and it probably cost City the points. You cannot afford to take off your best players, and this was proof in the pudding. Gerry Gow would have been thrilled—just never the point.
A goal from over the halfway line from Abdul Fatawu in a 3–1 win over Ipswich Town, plus a De Cordova-Reid 25-yarder. It’s not often a goal as good as this is overshadowed.
SMOOTH LIKE SILKO
Silko Thomas managed a goal—his first for the club—after De Cordova-Reid’s penalty came back off the post. Smooth like Silko… well, as smooth as you can be in a 1–4 reverse against QPR.
Despite Jordan James giving Leicester City an early lead with his sixth goal of the season, they went down 2–1 to Watford. The Watford winner should have been the keeper’s ball, but hey-ho.
De Cordova-Reid opened the scoring against Derby County after seven minutes—his fourth goal in six games—and it was goal number seven for Jordan James to put Leicester 2–1 up.
Julian Carranza, without a goal in 12 games, was not used. Where’s the Carranza goal bonanza?

Jordan James scored his 3rd goal in 3 games and 8th of the season as Leicester City were defeated 3-1 by Sheffield United on New Years Day. It was their 9th defeat of the season.
Jordan Ayew opened the scoring for Leicester after 18 minutes with his 5th goal of the season.
Abdul Fatawu on the volley also with his 5th goal of the season for a 2-1 winner with
West Bromwich Albion.
