DAILY GRATITUDE JOURNALING

I was introduced to writing a gratitude journal some years back. I thought I would share with you how I practice this.

 Purchase an A5 new note book, some felt tips, colouring pencils and a nice new pen to write with.

Find a time of day daily where you can take 10 minutes out for yourself. Sit silently with your eyes gently closed.

 Focusing on your breath take a few deep breaths in and out. Placing your hand on your heart area say silently to yourself ‘thank you, thank you, thank you’

 Then open your note book and start with the words ‘ I am truly grateful for ‘ then finish the sentence with what you are grateful for. Try to write down at least five things you are grateful for daily. Some examples are ‘ I am truly grateful for my home it keeps me safe and warm.  I am truly grateful for my hands so I am able to type this article.  I am truly grateful for the food shopping I did this morning.  I am truly grateful for my health‘ and so on.

As well as listing the gratitudes you can try writing ‘I am truly grateful for’ in the middle of the page and draw pictures for each gratitude. Be as creative as you like with your gratitude journal.
