Collecting Stories About Leicester at Western Park Festival

Leicester Stories and Leicester Community Radio (LCR) will be attending the Western Park Festival 2023. This exciting collaboration will bring together two community-focused initiatives to celebrate the rich tapestry of life in Leicester.

Sharing Stories of Leicester: Leicester Stories, a community-driven project that uses community media to inspire engagement, will be collecting stories for playout on LCR1 and LCR2. We are particularly interested in hearing about what it was like growing up in Leicester, or what it was like when you moved to Leicester. These stories will provide a unique insight into the diverse experiences of Leicester residents, painting a vivid picture of life in our vibrant city.

A Chance to Learn and Volunteer: The Western Park Festival 2023 will not only be a celebration of music, culture, and community, but it will also be an opportunity to learn more about being a community reporter. Leicester Stories will be on hand to share insights into community reporting, offering festival-goers a chance to learn about the power of storytelling and the role it plays in fostering community connections.

In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to find out more about volunteering for Leicester Community Radio. LCR, known for its eclectic mix of music and its commitment to serving the Leicester community, is always looking for volunteers to help bring their mission to life. Whether you’re interested in being behind the mic or behind the scenes, there’s a place for you at LCR.
